Membership is open to anyone interested in learning more about Japanese language, customs, crafts, history, and the relationship between the U.S. and Japan.

Membership FAQs

In 2023 we changed our credit card processor. Subscriptions that joined before November 2023 are tied to our old processor. These member accounts need to update their payment info to maintain an active membership.

STEP 1: Remove the old Payment Type

Click on the LOGIN button at the top of the page. Sign-in to your account and on the right side of the page you will see your Account Menu. Click the PAYMENT option and REMOVE the existing payment method (if you can’t see a PAYMENT option look for a button called ACCOUNT SETTINGS)

Now ADD a new payment method and hit SAVE. This will be used on future sign-ups and purchases.

  • If you are an existing member and your renewal date has not occurred yet, no further action is necessary.

  • If you received an email from us saying either your “Payment was Declined”, or your “Subscription has been Canceled”, you will need to re-subscribe as a member (see STEP 2 below).

STEP 2: Renewing an Expired or Cancelled Membership

Visit our membership page. Choose your Membership Type (Individual or Family) and select JOIN/RENEW. Your details and the payment info updated in Step 1 should appear automatically and you can renew.
